Bopspam right on the head
Its not that often a really good online service catches my attention. However last night I signed up to the Bopspam service and so far its been brilliant.
Bopspam is a service that filters spam out of your e-mail. It does this using some very new and clever algorithms that learn as more spam in intercepted and because its a service the more people using it means the better it gets!
I am watching it today as it filters my mail every 15 minutes and even though it takes a little bit of training - 100 messages or so, its already getting most of the spam.
If like me you have you own mail servers and use Spam Assassin - which is pretty good at identifying spam but not updated very often - the service is very easy to set up - you put your mail servers details into your Bopspam account and change your mail client to pick up mail from Bopspam instead. When your mail client asks for mail Bopspam gets it from your mail server and filters it on the way.
You can log into your Bopspam account at their web site, look through your recent mail and tell it which ones are spam that it has missed and which ones are not spam that it has mistakenly identified.
You can even stop all mail with certain file types attached! Very useful.
The first 30 days are free so its worth giving it a try.
