My spam stats
Over the past year I have been using Bopspam to filter my incoming mail for Spam. It has been very effective especially at a time when spam got worse than ever.
The stats for May 2004 to April 2005 are:
26300 mail received of which 59% were tagged as spam.
So the majority of mail I get is unwanted junk - fortunately I have avoided receiving this in my desktop in box making my life much happier.
The downside is that spam is still on the increase with my monthly figures recording about a 40% rate of spam that grew to nearly 70% for April 05. Yes the software did miss more in the beginning but that was only a couple of percent difference.
Spam comments and trackbacks are diminishing - mainly due to the affects of excellent software to block the baddies, but referrer spam has increased over the past couple of months.
