Prodigy Brixton 8 Aug 05
Just got back from the Prodigy gig at Brixton Academy. This gig was postponed from the 7th July 2005 because of the bombings in London. Life goes on here in London... Eddie Temple Morris was in support doing his wizardry with the decks - this guy is becoming a legend. Infidel were the other support group - I would like to hear them again on CD sometime - interesting but not why we were there! The Prodigy came on at about 9pm starting with 4 tracks that I did not recognise. Then they played Breath. Absolutely awesome. The whole place erupted and that set the evening up. Brilliant light show great songs and I could not believe that two hours had gone so quickly when they finished at 11pm.
Last time we saw the Prodigy was in 1996 at Battersea with a crowd of 3,000 in a tent and that was one of the best concerts we have ever seen - seriously. Tonight was bloody good but not quite as good as '96. The thing that we noticed was that most of the crowd would have still been in Primary school when we saw them last!
Also its the first time I have ever seen a longer queue for the trap than the urinals... Funny that.
