Muse at Wembley Stadium 16th June 2007
WOW! I always said that these guys would get better and better in a big stadium. they started the set with my current favourite track, Knights of Cydonia, which I think would make a stunning 2nd encore finale - but it got the crowd really worked up for the whole set. We had great seats - in the 4th row in block 125 - the first three rows were kept empty so an uninterrupted view and we could see over the huge sardined crowd on the pitch. These were special seats as they were sold to the fan club a day before the tickets went on general sale. Consequently behind us were a row of young pretty girls singing every word to every song, and in tune - thanks girls it was great - true fans!
Muse are officially the first band to sell out the new Wembley. They would have been the first headliners but George Michael sneaked a warm up concert in before them at the last minute - but that was half empty an d really who wanted to see a 'has-been' like him... :)
Wembley was great, can't wait to see Pink Floyd there - every seat has a great view, the beer was a reasonable price, toilets were clean and clear and access in and out was well managed and quick.
Back now in Croydonia - its just gone 1/2 one and I am off to work in 3.5 hours. But it was worth it!
