At last! [Google.co.uk ](https://web.archive.org/web/20091125022449/http://www.google.co.uk/) have recognised that us English have a patron Saint as well!

Even Londons Mayor, Ken Livingstone, has put �100,000 into the kitty to celebrate the day - the same amount as St Patricks day. However he has unwisley chosen not to spend it on a big party for us but on celebrating Shakespears birthday at the Globe Theatre... Hmmm.

Labour MP Tom Watson says in the Guardian that decent people are [reclaiming our patron Saint](https://web.archive.org/web/20091125022449/http://politics.guardian.co.uk/labour/comment/0,9236,1201474,00.html "Labour MP gets set to fight St George's corner"). However it seems other members of the Labour party are still anti English as [reported in the Sun](https://web.archive.org/web/20091125022449/http://www.thesun.co.uk/article/0,,2-2004182684,00.html).
