Rocket gang send Gerbil into space
From today’s Metro:
"Fireworks prank kills Gerbil
A shopkeeper was horrified when a group of teenagers sent a gerbil to
its death by tying it to a firework. Yvonne Graves said the Youths
bought a rocket from her store before getting a gerbil from the pet
store next door. They then asked her for an elastic band, which they
used to tie the rodent to the rocket, and set it off. Mrs Graves of
Cambridge said: 'I was disgusted. If they do that sort of thing to an
innocent animal, I wonder what they are capable of.'
The RSPCA said it was investigating. 'This incident beggers beleif',
added a spokeswoman."
