Silktide Sitescore website test

I reported the link to Sitescore at Silktide yesterday and wanted to do a fuller report today having been through the service a little more.

I reported the link to Sitescore at Silktide yesterday in my sideblog but wanted to do a fuller report today having been through the service a little more. I did notice that the site has become difficult to access over the past 18 hours and I expect that it will get worse quickly as this brilliant site gets noticed, blogged and used.

Sitescore
You put in a websites url and it does a ton of tests on the site. Clever tests as well - stuff you really want to know.

I am sure lots of people will be wondering how they score these individual elements. They seem to combine online resources to get an overall picture. For example they check Google to see how your page ranks and they also garner info from sites such as WC3 and Alexa.

User Rating. How do they rate your design? Actually they don't - the rest of us do in a brilliant idea of delegating the work to us, you are shown a never-ending series of pages and you are able to mark them out of 10. Obviously open to abuse and obviously your going to mark your own site at 10 to balance out your mates who will mark it as 1 after they get back from the pub.

I already knew I needed to do some work on this site but I just have not had the time to do a complete overhaul yet. I have Flashmob.co.uk to redesign (actually the design is done I just need to code it all up) and a couple of other projects for mates that are keeping me busy.

However I was quite delighted to find that this site, even with the current temporary design has actually scored 8.2! I thought it would have been a lot lower. Accessibility is not too good and I must, must do something about that. And the design...

Update!

OK I have done quite a bit of work on the site (under the hood) to get the home page up to WC3 AAA standard and my Silktide score went up:
This website scored 8.4/10 in Silktide SiteScore

But not much...

Update again!
Chages in the Sitescore system. I like to see people working a=on features excellent! But I have dropped to 7.8...
I re-added one new feature yesterday, Blogsnob...
As at 4th Nov this sites score is:
M 8.5
D 10
A 6.2
E 9.8

And here is the new automated Sitescore graphic:
This website scored 7.8/10 in Silktide SiteScore
