USA cheat strips team of Olympic gold

Those naughty athletes are up to their tricks again! Any little thing to give them that edge so that they are winners at any cost.

Following an IAAF Extraordinary meeting yesterday USA track athlete Jerome Young has had all his results annulled from 26th June 1999 to 25th June 2001. This includes his participation in the men's 4x400 relay which the USA won gold at the last Olympics.

In a statement the USATF said "USA Track & Field appreciates the care with which the IAAF considered this issue but regrets the IAAF Council's decision. USATF will continue to work through all appropriate channels on behalf of the affected athletes."

"Regrets the decision"? One of your blokes cheated - he represents your country - are you saying that you regret that he was found out? When the UK's Dwain Chambers was caught cheating our AAF vilified him and rightly so. The only thing regrettable here is the USATF didn't pick up on Jerome Young's cheating earlier as it has cost his team mates the ultimate prize.

Quite a few top athletes have suddenly dropped out of the Olympics possibly because of the new dope testing abilities of the IAAF but then again it might because they just don't fancy Greece at this time of year.

Meanwhile the USA broke three world junior records at the World Junior Championships in Grosseto. I assume that they all did this unaided unless the big drug companies have done some patriotic drug masking research.

I don't know who to trust anymore on this issue and for me the Olympics is tainted and I will not be watching this year.
