I purchased Simon Peggs Shaun of the Dead on Monday night and Paula and I watched it last night. I really wanted to go and see this at the cinema although I am not a horror fan at all but on reflection I was quite glad we did not. The reason was not because it is a little scary and Paula would not have liked it on the big screen, in the dark, with me rolling my eyes by her side. As it was my very slow shuffle up the stairs last night caused alarm and hysterics from Paula claiming she was going to have nightmares (she didn't).

Anyway the film. It is brilliant! A definite must for your DVD collection. The jokes are up to the normal standard of Messieurs Pegg and Frost, Nick has put quite a bit a weight on for the film compared to when he was in Space but it suited the slobby character.

Best scenes:
Deciding which records not to throw at the advancing zombies.
The intro scene where characters are introduced - genius piece of direction and script.
Every scene where everyday interaction is happening despite the seriousness of the situation: they are all crammed in Phillips Jag and Shaun is introducing everyone to each other.
On the DVD extras - The mean who would be Shaun: the Shaun Connery and Michael Caine imitations on one scene!

I have probably forgotten loads already! - what’s your favourite bit?
